Waste Of
Money Reviewer: Abdul 03-26-2004 Jenny Craig's program
will reduce your wallet. You'll be spending a minimum of $70 - $80 a
week on their food plus additional money for fresh fruits, milk, and
vegetables. If you get suckered into buying their food management tapes and/or
videos you're wallet will starve.

What I think of
Jenny Craig Reviewer: Teresa 03-26-2004 My review can be
reduced to one word: 'Ripoff!'

Nasty Tasting
Food Reviewer: Debi 03-26-2004 I did attempt Jenny Craig
& the food was so nasty that I'm one of the few people who succeeded in
getting their money back!!!
Weight Watchers offers more for the
money. The other thing about Jenny Craig is you're on their food for the
dura- tion of the program & then when you go back to the real world of
food it's a downhill slide!

I like Weight
Watcher better than Jenny Craig Reviewer:
Hage 03-26-2004 I agree that if you are looking for a group
situation, Weight Watchers is the best. I think they are far more experienced
and comprehensive in giving you helpful ideas and dealing with the many
issues involved in weight loss. I feel they are highly responsible towards
their participants, and make a great effort to keep up on what is currently
of importance to people in terms of nutrition and emotional
support.
They, of course, have their own pre-packaged
meals, if you are looking for help in that area. I also think Weight Watchers
is much more a "what you see is what you get" type of organization: put
another way, honest. I was put off when I went to Jenny Craig because they
advertised this great price on TV, but when I got me in their little
conference room with one of their reps, that person kept pushing me to spend
and spend and spend for all their tapes, etc. This may not, of course, be
anyone else's experience -- I speak only from personal experience.

Don't join Jenny
Craig!! Reviewer: Mark 03-23-2004 I hated Jenny Craig...I
ate their food and didn't loose enough...they said that I could loose more per
week. They were full of it.

Mistake! Reviewer: Dawn 03-21-2004 I made the
mistake of calling a Jenny Craig office looking for information - and they
wouldn't tell me anything over the phone. They made me make an appointment.
After thinking about it, I cancelled the appointment - and they kept calling
me to reschedule (I was never home). When I was finally there to take the
call, I told them I had decided to go back to WW, and the woman told me to
keep their number in case WW "doesn't work out."
I'd never go
to them just because of how hard-sell they are.

Expensive but it
works Reviewer: Stacey 03-26-2004 I am a Jenny Craig
graduate and I have been able to maintain my weight for about 2 years. I
actually went on it two times. The first time I lost about 20 pounds. I was
starting to run out of money so I had to go off of it. I then went on it a
year later to lost 10 pounds. I would highly recommend this program to
anyone. The only downfall is that it's very expensive. The best thing to do
is to join when you can pay a dollar for every pound that you want to lose.

It works for
me. Reviewer: Jan 03-12-2004 I have been going to Jenny
Craig for about a year now and so far have lost 54lbs. Yes it is expensive,
I don't deny it, but I was eating out alot so it is almost a wash. You get
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and some snacks; my week costs about $77.00. My
groceries at the store include veggies, milk, fruit, bread and yogurt.

a coworker
experience to tell Reviewer: Sofaslug 03-26-2004 I've
never done Jenny Craig but I did have a co-worker who went on it. She spent a
lot of money on their food and never really learned how to effectively deal
with portion controls. After spending all of that money and not losing any
weight, she joined Weight Watchers and had much better luck. She stopped
going to meetings after a while but she did learn how to manage her weight
eating "real" foods instead of prepackaged foods.

It worked for
me. Reviewer: Guylene 03-26-2004 I was on Jenny Craig for
quite awhile and it did work. I lost about 55lbs in 6 months, with about
22lbs to go to hit my goal. I had to quit for awhile due to a job and
location change. During this time I realized that I didn't know how to cook
healthy for myself anymore and gained back about 25-30lbs. I have decided
that I will not go back to Jenny Craig, cause i can't live on it for the rest
of my life. I have to learn how to cook healthy for myself cause Jenny lives
in Canada and isn't too interested in coming here to Colorado to help me plan
my menus or cook my food. She does have a Jenny Craig cookbook however. I've
looked through it and it has a full range of foods for better eating.

Tried it
and... Reviewer: Unknown 03-12-2004 I tried Jenny
Craig---it is high carb, low fat, low protein, and costs about $80 per week
(not counting additonal food you have to buy yourself) In spite of sticking
to it religiously, and running 2 miles per day, l only lost 4 lbs in a 6 week
period----after I quit the program (in spite of NOT being an "overeater"----
my cal intake has never been high) I gained the weight back and then some. I
don't recommend low cal diets----they just make you fat. Try Dana Thornock's
book "Lean and Free 2000"----it makes a lot of sense. She advocates more, not
fewer calories (but not from junk food, mind you)

not an affordable
diet Reviewer: Ariel 03-26-2004 Jenny Craig I spend over
$100 to sign up. About $85 a week just for their food. Then I went to the
store and had to buy milk, fruit, veggies, and bread. Then I had to buy food
for my family. The food is DISGUSTING. There is no room for treats. You can't
ever eat a meal with your family. I spent about $600 and lost 7 pounds. I
would not recomend Jenny Craig to anyone.

RIP OFF AND
1/2 Reviewer: Miki California 01-07-2005 I tried the Jenny
Craig diet about 6 months ago. Aside from the exorbitant sign up fees, the whole
buy your meals every week thing is a REAL budget buster: $88/week for Jenny
Cuisine just wasn't the right plan for me. Worst of all, I followed the plan
to the letter, and did not loose the weight promised. Furthermore, I've heard
many horror stories of people gaining the weight back plus MORE once they go
back to eating regular food.
After the wasted $300+ dollars I spent at
Jenny's my physician recommended the South Beach Diet: she indicated that
their method of weight loss/maintenance is closer to the most healthy regimine
she would recommend for her paitients, plus based on all the reviews I've
read on this site and numerous others, SBD seems to be among the more healthy
and effective diets that is condusive to maintaining healthy eating habits for
life and is not a constant battle of will over what we should eat...so off to
the bookstore I go to pick up SBD.
**This is a great site, by the way**
Reading your posts has helped me to make some key decisions about which diets to
try and the ones to avoid.
I wish you all courage, strong will, and the
perseverance you'll need to achieve your weight loss goals.
